Collecting
Dogs in cabins

I like a room to feel collected, not like it all came off the page of a catalog, even though dang it-I love those catalogs! Pieces that are unique and "found" over time come with a story and a memory. The more stories you can fill a room with, the better.

These snow shoes were one of the first things I found for Bear's Den at a favorite antique shop. The rug is from my home, I can't remember the name of the brand but I bought it brand new and wore it in for years. I like a little wear and tear in my rugs. Mike thinks if it's frayed it's time for it to go, I think it's just getting to where I want it to be. The mirror is from Target, the basket from the Fairfax Flea Market. The table was handmade by my Dad who I'm pretty sure had to drive far and wide to find that raw-edged wood. I designed it with him for my home but when I saw the finished product I knew it had to be in the mountains.

Vintage skis

I left the store twice without getting these vintage wood skis and I am nothing but lucky that they were there when I finally realized what I was doing. The wood is engraved with Stein Erickson's name, who I actually met once!
